I'd take the Lotus Sunbeam over any of those.
That said after that the little Pug Rallye would be the purest driving thrills, though I'd take either of the Civics over it based simply on the reliability front. I'd add in the early 90's Sunny GTi simply because I had one (still do it's for sale in the UK) and it was a sorely underestimated piece of kit. I absolutely loved it. Grew on me day by day... What about the Colt GTi?
But ofcourse I'm sentimental about this model: 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

i've driven this colt and the next generation model and its such a lifeless car. maybe the gti is a bit better.
nobody mentioned this one EDIT: i agree nissans are (aside from silvia and skyline) majorly underestimated. also the 100 NX was a great car, hideous, but great |

My old GTI's:
From 2002-2006, sold for my current AE86: 5GTTurbo phase 2, had @dyno 150hp/235Nm on the wheels! 0-100 in around 6 secs. (G-tech) 2007-2007: 309GTI16, very fast in standard trim, crappy suspension so i sold it. Nice car though, better handling then a 205. Since 2 weeks: Real Clio Williams phase 2, cilinderhead modified by tuner who did the Clio16v-cupcars. Very fast for a Williams, almost certain it has 150+ whp. |
