water leakage in the trunk RHS ??
Heey
Is it common for a AE86 coupé to have water leakage in the trunk, cause I dont know where the water is comming from yet!! Try to make some pictures tonight or tomorrow.. my sugestions are: *rear side glass RHS * rear window somewhere in that direction I suppose... I dont think that I am the only one with this problem.. am I ? Cheers Roel |

Usually this leak comes from the rear glass on the hatch - rust forms on the metal seam as it leaks through.... You can have some moderate success using find a leak sealant... Or use clear silicone sealant against the rubber seal / glass.
It also happens with FRP boot lids (Although sealant helps). We find the best way to stop water getting in is to cover the car with a cover, or put it in a garage when not in use.. water leakage in the trunk RHS ??
yeah, looked at the rar lights.. But that seemed dry.. have to check it when the car is in stand...
maybe I will Flip the rear seat and crall in while someone is getting the outside of the car wet.. but this is not that nice weather to preform that.. I will remove the rear light first and check unterneath.. like It.. best way to stop water... Put it in a garage.. are you going to build it for me.. no, that is not the solution to atack the cause of the problem. but would be nice though... cheers roel |

water leakage in the trunk RHS ??
Check the rubber trunk seal: mine leaked a littlebit through it because the seal was getting old. I used some grease to "renew" the inside of the seal.

water leakage in the trunk RHS ??
I went drifting for a whole day on a wet course. Halfway through the day my spare tire space was FULL with water!
I just took out the rubber fittings on the sides of the trunk so that all water could escape. Had no problems ever since. |
