20v conversion water relocation
Hi all,
I don't find the good answer on internet so I ask here.
What is the purpose of the water relocation when doing a 20v conversion ?

I know it's something about the coolant flow but what's more ?

Thanks for the help.

20v conversion water relocation
The 20v engine has a different location for both the dizzy and the coolant pipes.

You can best see the difference on these two pictures.
20v blacktop:

AE92 16v small port:

You can see that the distributor and water pipes are located on the back of the engine for the 20v, while the 16v has them at both sides on the front.
For the AE86 the block has to be mounted longitudinal, which means the distributor is in the way (relocate or hacksaw) and the water pipes end up at a different location. Hence you need to water pipes.
