Need info: Silvia S12

Need some quick info, what do we have on the S12?

Engine 1.8 DET? Same as S13?

LSD? Its a US market car i m talking about.

1.8 SOHC turbo, totally different engine from the one in the S13. Don't know about LSD though.

No LSD, CA18et. Single cam 1.8 turbo. 140 bhp, shitty suspension, great look.

This particullar car has a DET. It has catalytic converter and its Turbo. Has 173 PS. Maybe uses a newer engine?

Can someone use on an S12 parts from earlier Silvias???

the DET went in the S13 so i think thats the newer engine, yeah.

173 bhp in a S12 has to be big fun!

The S12 is know as hard to modify, especially with the suspension..

Megan reacing sells a coiloverset for the s12.

front can be done with some s13/s14 parts, rear can be done with corvette shocks iirc.

AFAIK the 2.0 had LSD, but dunno about the 1.8...
I would go for the 2.0 which has a FJ20E, which can easily be swapped for the FJ20ET (Skyline R30 RS-X Turbo ), so IMO that's the better option. >
(in Japan they actually delivered them to the Silvia!! )

S13 diff should fit, open diff style
S14 diff is the same on the outside.. but viscous lsd on the inside, and another backhousing.
(S14 diff with S13 diff backhousing will fit S13)
S15 (Spec R) diff is also the same on the outside (Different backhousing again) And torsen.
(S15 diff with S13 diff backhousing will fit S13)

S13 should fit S12 with minor or no adjustments

an s13 diff will never fit an s12 subframe.
