Update time. Thumbs up!

I've been doing a bit of restoration the past week. Firstly I prepped and cleaned my brake cylinder, and painted it with two coats of primer.

Then my friend and I test-fitted my intercooler, and made two 3" holes in the front, so that my pressurepiping can get to the intercooler. While we was ad it, we cut the hole from the engine bay to the front inner wing, where the air filter is to be fitted. We didn't have cup-drill in 3", so my friend had to drill small holes around a line I had drawn, and then bash the metal-piece of, then file the holes into shape... But I must say he did a really good job.

Today I started restoring the fuel tank.
I cleaned it, then sanded it, then cleaned it, then cleaned it with thinner, and then one coat of primer...
But take a look at the result, and tell me if it was worth it Smile

A LOT has happened. Hurray!

I'll try to separate the different areas of work. So here goes:

Firstly the engine project:

As mentioned before, I'm going to turbo-charge the engine, with a 'bit' more power than the original SC12. So engine upgrade is a must.

I disassembled the engine, and upgraded the main- and con rod-bearings. I also installed a 2mm steel head gasket. But this will give me a lower compression rate than I want, so I had 0.2 mm machined off the engine block. The valves and valve seats has also been re-cut. The cylinder walls has been cut, so the new piston rings can be cut to fit.

I assembled the lot, with brand new gaskets, ARP head studs, new piston rings.

I managed to find an old inlet manifold, which I have sanded an polished, so that it will look nice in the engine bay.
The old fuel-rail and the distributor thingy also had a bit of a polish.
The valve covers has been carefully sealed, so no glass from the glass blasting can get inside. After the glass blasting they will be painted in the same colour as the car.

Now I only have to install the timing belt and a couple of other things, and the the engine is ready for mounting.

Here are pictures of the lot.
