Hey there Lofty, congrats on the new relationship Hard to tell from the pics, but seems like the car has potential! So if you have a 4af in there now, its making around 110 hp, which is close to a standard 4ag anyway, maybe just not as perky - but i've seen these engines in '92 corollas and they are quite fast - definately no reason to go back to 4ac which is quite a poor engine by itself. Its not makeng even 90 hp, and youre be lucky to make anywhere close to 100 hp with the mods you mentioned.

With that said, the best way to really start enjoying this car would be to find a 4ag engine, make a nice rebuild, with some auxilaries such as air intake, exhaust etc.. Than later on you can mess with the cams, headwork, intake (itbs maybe) etc.. But before all that you will want to concentrate on suspension as this car benefits from such mods the most. decent shocks, new bushings (get a prothane kit that we all love so much, and its cheap at 150$), a bit stiffer springs, GTS (or beter) antirollbars..

-4ag engine
-suspension
-driving
-driving
-driving
-...
-modifications
