Thats not how it works sadly. If the weight balance is off then everything else is compromised. Plus you are adding it to the wrong end of the car. If it was over the driven wheels then you might have made it work. The 7m is just too heavy and sits too far forward. Even a v8 would produce a better base setup.
Just "not liking" rotaries seems like a very unwise conclusion about a setup that might provide enough power at low weight. If its running and puts out more power then the 4age then you would be crazy for not driving it around while things last. Driving is the fun part, the modding is only fun if it improves your driving enjoyment. No?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear
