To be honest, spending 1100 on something that isn't really optimal seems like a terrible waste of money. Though I'm sure that there are sources where you could get them more cheaply, which makes them a lot more reasonable.

For 1100 I think you could make your own coilovers with fresh HTS's and springs of your choice. Count on around 600 for the HTS and another 250 for the rear spring setup and around 200 for the fronts. You'd still have 50$ left to have someone shorten the strut for you. A bit more work, same amount of money, but the end result is a lot better.

Its $100 off 50% and he only said he hoped to get them that cheap, not that he could.
