Ok lets make sure I understand you correctly...You plan to:
Use AE86 struts Shorten them 50~60mm Use std.spring perches and springs Install std e9 shocks ? If so, then I have the following remarks: Lowering and stock springs dont go that well together. You have less travel before the tires hit the chassis, so you should still have to get uprated springs. Whats the extra difficulty of installing a set of coiloverperches? You're already planning to do the difficult bit: shortening the struts. just slap on those coilovers as well and order some medium stiff springs...Should be the easiest way of doing things, probably cheapest too, unless you guess the perfect springrate first time round. Also, dont forget about the rear! Lowering will mess with the pinion angle (might cause some extra wear in the CV/universal joints). Going to stiffer springs up front will introduce a understeer bias into the car. Relatively minor problems though... A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
