That should give me some solid ground to work on. Instead of discussing it, it seems time to just get under the car. I have new motor- and trans mounts lying around, so I will mount them and check if it handles the issue. If not, I'll have to take out the driveshaft and have it balanced. If that doesn't fix it, I'll get back and see what a next step can be. It seems like a good thing to replace the carrier/hanging bearing anyway if I have the shaft out, since it's 30 years old.
