RE: Another suspension topic - The deal with droop
I'm convinced. For me, it's very much about function more than ever, since I want to make the car perform better under the conditions, be more reliable and generally more comfortable. Which is everything I would anticipate from a daily driver. The reason I chose the CS2s was the level of adjustment offered by ride height and damping and thought that despite the 8/6 rate, it would still perform well under a multitude of conditions.
Like I say, the CS2s are not bad, especially when compared to the last coilovers I had, but the buttock clenching moment before hitting a bump on a country road, knowing that not only will I feel the knock but the car itself could suffer the consequences in the bearings and joints, really makes me think it's time for a change. So, based on what people have suggested, Bilstein shocks seem to be a good starting point. Ideally I would like to have a slightly lower spring than standard ride height to have a lower centre of gravity and to maintain a little bit of visual appeal. Also, I could imagine it would help somewhat with body roll, despite my hefty ARBs. I'm aware some of you guys are running a custom spring setup, but what would you recommend for a good all rounder, keeping in mind that the car sees mostly road action and sporty driving. From there I would assess my options and look into selling up the CS2s to get myself into a more ideal setup. Thanks |
