Interesting subject.
My silvertop makes 180(ish) bhp if I believe the dyno sheet that came with the car from Japan. Its had quite a lot to make that power (ribbed block, crank, rods, pistons, head work, valve work, cams, adjustable pulleys, injectors, ITBs, tubular manifold). It feels brisker than the other hachis I've driven - but I've never driven a standard one. I think though mapping alone its hard to get big gains from little engines without changin a fair bit. Now if you are running a blower... thats a different story I guess. My good friend dingy (has a completely mental 450+bhp cossie powered mk2 ford escort) happens to have a CRX parked on his drive - I wonder if an experiment is in order Regards Ian. |
