Regarding final-gears..junk the original axle ( you will snap those like twigs) and start looking for either a celica-supra rear axle (moderate power) or a 9" Ford rear-end (stupid power).. Whatever way you look at it..there will be little left of the original hachi when you finish. You have to fabricate a new firewal and transmission tunnel to get the engine set-back to reasonable values..If not then you end up with an already very heavy engine, concentrating its weight in front of the front axle-line..(aka understeer understeer understeer).
