I don't think if is there any phisycal difference between the engine blocks/cylinder heads.
The main difference is in the air measuring, the USDM has AFM based and the JDM has MAP sensored system.
And the JDM has more agressive ignition map, and has no emission pack (EGR) Thats why the USDM has ~125hp anf the JDM has ~140hp.
