There's your first mistake, if all four tires are not the same, one end or the other is going to run out of traction first. Put on four of the same tires, or try swapping your front for rear to see if it gets better or worse.

And replace the cracked bushings in the suspension.

Forget about the tires being "old". Tires aren't made of the same rubber that was used in 1920. Unless they've been sitting out in tropical sunlight for a couple of years, they can last ten year without any problems. At least, the ones that are made well can, and that certainly includes Michelin.

Original owner, 1985 Toyota Corolla GT-S in the US of A. Will trade for a Cadillac-Gage V150 or a Ford GT44.
