1 set is the warmup plugs
and the other set is the race plugs
I guess the warmupplugs might be 1 or 2 degree hotter than the race plugs

I must buy 2 good quality sets, as you said 1 for warm up only, I leave the plugs sitting on the manifold of a hot car for about 10minutes, this usually works, but if it doesnt start 1st turn, the plugs fowl & the plugs must be removed/cleaned & warmed up again. Pain in the A$$
