Is it worth it??? Please Read

ok so i have a chance to buy a 85 corolla SR5 for only $250 us dollars.... my question to you guys is... Is it worth it? car has over 200k miles and does not run... owner says motor knocks and he thinks it was just a spun bearing.... so motor needs a rebuild... ok now i know NOTHING about these cars so i need your help.... i would be using the car for just a lil drifting.... not to much.. i also love speed....are the stock motors in these any good? and if not what can i swap it for with not to much modification? and about how much for swap? sorry im a noob at these cars but not to drifting or cars.
