4 age camshaft

Dear all,

I was wondering how to improve performance of my 4 age small port.
Start with lower end or do you recommend cams. Was thinking about 256 or 264 cams. The car is for road use and initial track day use.

since I am driving a small port I was thinking to use the big ports
cams/ they have a bit more duration and lift . is it wise ?

Lots of work, for very little improvement. I'll bet that you wouldn't notice the power increase if you didn't know they had been changed.\
Its worth doing if you have the head open anyway, but I wouldn't tear apart the head just for this swap.

for 256 & 264 cams you'll feel really little improvement, you dont even need adj cam gear to tune 256 and 264, i'll say go with 264/272, max your Stock ECU can handle with a little rough idle, but you'll squeeze more fun out of that with the same amount of $$$

I was thinking about 256 cams instead of the original 232 in my small port.
but will do so after the summer season lets say oktober / november perhaps. so still time to overthink things
