4A-GE engine mix - question
They Piper cams are lying when they say powerband is 3000-8000rpm
http://www.pipercams.co.uk/pipercams/www...OY16VBP300 AFAIK cams aren't only about duration and lift, some 300' duration cams need 9000, but some don't. I presume shape of the lobe is very important also. About idle and street driving, i don't think it will be problem. I don't plan to drive it to job and supermarket. Fun car.. something in between . |

4A-GE engine mix - question
Uzelac give me your email by PM, my file is not online but I can send it to you by email
And if you want "only" 165hp (at crank) and max RPM @ 8000 -> take something around 270° |

4A-GE engine mix - question
That's lower limit of expectations
When i was hoping that Honda will "just work" i got 142 crank hp with stock camshafts. I certanly hope to get more than 165 with 300'/9mm cams, underbucket shims, Wiseco pistons, ITBs, custom exhaust and standalone ECU . |

4A-GE engine mix - question
I'm aiming for a similsr goal as you Uzelac, although a bit differently.
As said figures stated by cam companies can't always be directly compared as ramp rates differ quite a bit as does lift. My end goal is ~180 and might need to go one step up on my catcams to reach it but only time (lots of it) will tell, as there's no dyno in the whole country and I still need to find a machine shop I can trust that is able to do precision work (if it exist at all) AE86 ex-daily |

4A-GE engine mix - question
OMG, your AE86 is with you at Sudan ? Great.
We have two dynos in Serbia, from which one is often non operational and second on is not reliable. I got to dyno my car on first one when it worked, now we made some option with carburetors i can not dyno it because it ain't working. So... just wanted to tell you how i understand your problems . my new head will arrive in 10 days, i believe one month will pass to get it all working. So, some results can be expected by the end of April |

4A-GE engine mix - question
Haha think that would make me more furious than not having one. Yeah my hachi blends in very well here, eccept the colour. Never seen so many xE7x like here driving around, but they are in a horrible state. Here they go like: as long as it rolls everything is ok. At least I don't have to worry about rust in this deserted country, humidity hasn't been invented here
Anyway looking forward to your build - mine will probably take ages, although I have all the parts needed and can do 99% myself that last % keeps me from finishing it. EDIT: @Project D Nice, will be interesting to compare our builds one day - although it will be hard to do as we are spread all over the globe. AE86 ex-daily |

Project D Wrote:And if you want "only" 165hp (at crank) and max RPM @ 8000 -> take something around 270° above dyno was 14 months back, the tune has come a LONG way since then I'm at about that, maybe 170(@ the crank), I'm twisting to just under 8 grand, 7850 so far, with a superior port job, and aftermarket management I've managed to do it with a 264 type cam. The top end hp is NOT my big thrill, the fact that I have a 4500 rpm powerband (80% or more of total torque) is what makes me the happiest Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!!
