4A-GE engine mix - question
13mm shims are easier to find than mine (8mm / supertech)

4A-GE engine mix - question
This is great .
Best info in your post is that some Kawasaki's use them. If that's correct, then the problem with shims is as good as solved . |

4A-GE engine mix - question
Yes Kawasaki use 13mm shim, that why I says they are more common
(if only supertech have used 7.5 shim like many many Honda / Yamaha bikes rather than 8mm ) NoHachi, http://www.precisionshims.com.au make 8mm shim ok, but no price on their website... |

4A-GE engine mix - question
Wow... lots going on in here........
You can machine the keeper end of the valve some to gain back what is lost. Personally I wouldn't sink the valves... too much overall cost. FACT: ALL 16V 4AGES, large port and small port begin life (stock unshaved) between 36, and 36.25 cc To get an unported head down to 32cc that head would have to been cut very deep I have opened up a head once before. From 36cc to nearly 39cc - note the 2 chambers on the left, compare those to the 2 on the right. The 2 on the right now measure nearly 39cc each here is a shot showing before and after on one chamber Finally, the changes by the numbers - note the squish areas have only changed minimally at most Another area to "tune" your compression.... Are your Wiseco pistons pointed? You can usually have some of that pointed amount removed - have you machinist check, by as much as 2mm of the crown center can be machined away, this is another option in lowering static CR Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! OST Porting service - http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19991 |

NoHachi Wrote:Quote:Personally I wouldn't sink the valves... too much overall cost. 1) re machining all the seats, 2) tipping the tops of all the valves to keep a protrusion around 37.5mm - http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j143/o...rusion.jpg 3) blending the lowered seat and the combustion chamber to provide proper flow over the drawn in seat I just think it is easier to open the chambers, then it is to sink the valves further. 4A-GE engine mix - question
Wisecos are very pointed, maybe i could gain another 1ccm only on them . I'm kind of affraid to widen the chamber, area between them looks thin enough already.
Deshrouding valve seats, removing casting marks and cutting down the pistons sounds promising enough, maybe even 3ccm . btw. what do you reckon, how much skimming head can sustain before it becomes junk? 1.5mm, 2mm, more? Of course, any head can have valves sinked more and chamber enlarged, but if all that is needed, it sounds too me other head is much better option. How much is too much to have descent squish with average 1-1.2 mm headgasket? |
