I've found a block with the following specs:
- 7 Rib block - 40mm crankshaft - no extra-meat - 10:1 pistons w/o the sublevel What may be the origin of this block? Seems that its mixed up and it's a transition block.... |

Its a late hybrid 4age bigport engine i think.
Finally got arround to disassembling my engine which happens to be the same: Its a 4age red and black letters september 1986 belgium 7 rib engine 270 000 kms on of which 15000km on circuit -7 rib block -40 mm crankshaft -18 mm pins -10:1 pistons pictures |

Revive the Ancient thread! I'd love to see those pictures, that are no longer hosted. I believe I have the same engine in an American AE92.

I'm sure it's original equipment. The car has 199k miles, I haven't cracked it open yet. I have rebuilt the distributor, and fixed some other oil leaks. The most I've done is the valve cover gaskets. This weekend I'm thinking about doing the front crank seal, and my original concern was if there were variations in crank seal diameters between bigport generations. I guess I'll find out tomorrow or Monday. Or I might wait until I have the belt and water pump. Thanks for the reply. If I find anything odd I'll put it up here.
