4age problem
i have 85 ae86 gts that accelerates poorly. i went to get it repaired to pass smog because i live in ca usa. the timing was set back to 10 btdc. it idles smooth and it passes smog now but accelerates really slow. when the timing was at 15 btdc it pulled strong but ran rough. the crank pulley and cam gears all line up. i'm about to replace the vacuum hoses around the intake even though they look alright. i ran the cel diagnostic and "normal" code comes up. i heard it might be a compression problem or an electrical problem.
any suggestions? cheers mates |

4age problem
Make sure the timing was set with the diagnostic terminals bridged (to set the timing to static mode).
