I have to try one for myself, one thing I love from the hachi is the fact that power sooms to go on for ever, first time I drove it it seemed like ages before it reached near 8000rpm and I had to shift... Loosing that would certainly remove some of the appeal for driving the hachi. Still, the question is if what you get in return is equally fun... Still, I think once I got the last bits done to my hachi that I am planning (finish the paintwork, put bushings on and the coilovers that are gonne be in soon I hope), I'll be switching my attention to my RX7 anyways. The hachi needs to stay relatively clean and becomes very trustworthy, the RX7 is the powerhungry racer I'm gonne try and have fun at the track with... ITs just that it will take awhile before the RX7 is finally put back together and will be slowly upgraded from then on Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

my GZE lump even with peak torque and power produced at 4K and 5 K respectivley, is really revvy still after that, maybe its down to the lightweight flywheel.
Great fun to drive but I havent driven it in the last few days cos of all the salt on the roads, dont want to encourage corrosion on the wheels !! |

yeah they started with the salt here aswell I have little chance avoiding it though Gonne keep a close eye on it....

I dont understand why i have to find a title everytime i post something.
I meen, I have to do that in the office everyday, new test, new car, new title and subtitle... I m so tired of finding titles. Well thank you all for your comments. Somebody asked about the comparison (do i spell this right?) between ae86 and new cars... The answer to that (as always) is what are you looking for? New cars are much more friendly for what we call an "average driver". Some of them are pretty fast to. For example, the new golf gti, or a civic type R, are reaaally fast in any kind of roads. (Type-R is one of the best front wheel drive cars i ever drove, maybe even better from the Focus RS). But of course "they dont make them as they did in the past". The is no such car as an AE86 right now in the market, that's for sure. i could write something about RWD cars on sale right now but the cost is extremelly high. I meen, a Mazda MX5 is a jolly good drifter, but it costs about 30.000euros in Greece. Anyway, except some special vehicles, MODERN CARS ARE TOO SOFT FOR MY TASTE. I 'm not going to make a carbon bonnet like this, don't worry. It's just that before i work as a kournalist i studied graphic design, and i 'm very familiar with photoshop. So i play with it. Soon I 'll show you my two-tone project and help me deside if my car needs a paint job or not. 4agZe is COOL. Too much torque from 1.500 rpm, helps you drift, but it's also fast. I 'm not sure mine is a typical sample, cause of the biger pulley and boost pressure. Latest gZe version that I use -with a map sensor- is supposed to produce 170 ps @ 0,55 bar. Mine is running 0,82-0,86 bar and honestly it does't feels like 170 ps with 970 kgs. Although I haven't yet test it on a dyno. Also after 5.000 torque isn't as much as I want, but motor still reving untill 7.000+ with just enough power. Here's one pic from my engine bay, but it's a bit old. It's right after i made the alouminium intercooler pipes. i 've allready bought a Supra MkII intercooler which is much biger than the oem GZE. i've also installed a custom intercooler water spray system. But most important i have installed a Malpassi fuel pressure regulator and an Impreza STi fuel pump. You see, with the oem 4age pump the engine run lean after 4.000 rpm, but now with the new pump and fuel pressure at 2,6 bars its OK.
