I think an empty hachi will never go below 800 kg. even with all plastic windows and other body panels. But ok, Lets see where this will take us.

Maybe XTR can wheigh their car for us ?

Im assuming the doors have no mechanism or door cards etc. I replaced my door with a fibreglass one and the total savings was less than 10kg (kept the glass and card and manual winder.

FRP doors are bare, no mechanisms or glass
OEM door is also without glass, but with mechanism

Good to ask these things, they make a big difference.

They'll weight mine before they take the blacktop out, and then after they put the SR20DET in Smile

That would be good data.

Like the CA18DET, the SR20DET is a 60kg penalty even before you start adding the oil cooler, intercooler and blow off valve necessary to run it on track. Seeing as you now have those parts sitting in your living room ;-)

As a data point: my street legal Trueno, with CA18DET, fully stripped, racing seats, no cage: weighed in at 1040kg.

Why I chose an E7... most models come in around/under 1000 kg Huh

For example... my E7 sport coupe body, as a 1600GT (2TG power), is listed as 975kg

Well, if you removed the handicap called CA18DET it would have sat at roughly 975kg for a stripped 4AGE hachi with all fluids. So pretty similar.. it would have been quite a lot slower too though.

I'm not seeing big sources of weight differences between the E7 and E8 models. Same chassis, similar panels, engine = same, glass is very similar. Rear axle = same. I think they are a similar starting point, give or take a percent or two.

chassis dimensions the same(similar)..... but the chassis is NOT the same... a number of supports the AE86 has that was not in the E7 line. Doors are not the same(no upper frame on long door E7)
