Adding O2 sensor support
Currently I have installed a Cusco MFE ecu and it supports O2 sensor input.
Mine is a U.K spec. car and the stock ecu uses a potentiometer (VAF) to adjust mixture at idle and I think, cruise. It does not use an O2 sensor. I have disconnected VAF input to the Cusco ecu.
I have a wideband controller that can simulate a narrowband sensor and I have tried outputing a narrowband signal to the ecu but nothing changes with the idle mixture, it remains very rich.
The ecu throws up error code 5 which apparently is as you would expect "O2 sensor"
Is there more to this than simply connecting an output to the ecu ?
Thanks as always for any help

Seems you may have to select "O2 input enabled" on one of the dip
switches ??

Yes now I have some instructions for the ecu I know which switch does what function so I have tried enabling O2.
Do you know anything about grounding the sensor input ?
Can you tell me where the original O2 sensor grounds to, do you know if it is a pin on the ecu ?

I'm shooting in the dark here... single wire narrow band grounds thru
the case, and the signal wire runs to a pin in the ECU. If you take a
simulated signal from an external controller, you will need the controller
grounded, preferably alongside the ECU grounds.

i need a wideband sensor to adjust my Greddy ultimate too!
any suggestions ? i 've heard about innovate LC1 (sensor and cable-controller). How about that ?
ANy sites for low prices for that ?
Thanks

Jondee you have a point there, I have grounded the controller at the case and there are two grounding pins in the 18 pin socket.
I will do a search to find out if I should use one of these and if any of the "spare" pins could also be grounds.

Alimonos, the Innovate is highly regarded for accuracy and I'm sure if you get a good one they are great BUT....
well have a read here:

It's almost as if Innovate have given up and now let people try to work it all out for themselves on the Forum Huh
In fact if I were you I would look for something that works out of the box, I have spent nearly as much time trying to get my Innovate stuff to work as I have spent tuning the engine, seriously.

Yeah.... I have an Innovate LC-1, and it had a faulty controller right out
of the box. But once that issue was resolved (Innovate replaced the
controller) the thing has been rock solid. Faster than a speeding bullet,
and I can use a direct data output from the LC-1 to provide the O2 input
to my standalone.

So, a case of when they are good, they are very good... when they are
bad they are rotten !!!!

Alimonos, sadly no suggestions from as I'm still trying to make my Innovate investment work but there are quite a few online reviews available, maybe best to do a search.
Good to hear a positive story about the LC-1 Jondee, could it be that the Innovate forum only attracts the problems ? that would be a shame if that were the case as potentially it is very good kit.

Yes... I actually had read the threads in the Innovate forum before I
bought mine. But I figured having what is agueably the best and fastest
O2 controller around, outweighed the risk of getting a dud. Innovate
have sold huge quantities of kits, and the complaints that you read on
the forum represent only the tiny percentage that have a problem. The
other 99% plus that are working fine, don't write in.

I had to get an RMA# and return the kit to Felipe to get mine replaced.
But since then I have had zero problems. Can't say that is any comfort
to you, but I would certainly suggest emailing Felipe for assistance.
