Not give up yet, still working on it.
The Aust trip will be around end Nov. Send the car for fabricate the exhaust and ECU wiring. Cos I am a kindergarden level on wiring. I believe it will be alive very soon. But there should be still alot of small problem once it can run on its own. |

Right, I have done some work on the car, but mostly not update worthy.
But here some stuff that might be interesting. First up, we are making an airbox, because it is bettter than a mushroom. Here is the mock up: Then I bought a Renault aftermarket radiator. A copper one, it is now fitted in the car, bad pics, will get some better ones soon: Then I had to remake the coolant inlet into the engine, it faced 90 degrees sideways from the block. So I cut it diagonaly making it face forward towards the radiator and had it welded up again. With some sanding it now looks like this, although it is not finished yet: Also because the radiator has no filler cap I need a way to fill up the system. So I got me a '98 Honda Accord expansion can which I will use. It should end up right around there: Mocking up a bracket: I reworked the throttlecable holder also, coming from a rhd car it was set up to a cable coming from the rear, but I have a lhd car so I have to get the cable around the engine: Then the cable itself was way to short, so I had 250mm added, fits perfect now: More next time. |

Nice, I'm digging the airbox... are you going to fit a panel filter or just put a 'sports' filter in there?

Quality!
Also, don't forget to put some ducting around that radiator so no air goes around it.. You'd be amazed how fast cooling efficiency plummets when there's big holes for the air to use to get into the engine bay (destroying the pressure differential before and after the radiator). Ok, a bit more progress.
I had my brake and clutch cilinders refurbished by a shop in Amsterdam. That was a disaster, I had to sandblast and paint them myself again plus it cost me around 300 euro. They actually painted just the rusted parts black again making it a mix of flat and shiny paint, and I found out later they actually didn't bother to remove the rust at all and painted straight over it, what a bunch of wankers. A very expensive mistake. Anyway, they are halfway decent again now: Then it was time to make the brakelines, always a pain to make, glad the engine bay is done now: Here you can the line coming from the rear, I decided to let all brake, fuel lines and cables run through the cabin, instead of underneath the car: Then I got me some nice 'n shiny goodies! All the stuff I need to make the fuel lines from Goodrich: Made a start too: More to follow! |

Woow, 300e for paint job! You can get whole car in Serbia for that money.
Btw. even bigger wow is how that engine bay looks like. Only downside is that it can't stay like that when you start driving it. Showroom looks, really impressed. |

But I know it will be hard to to keep clean, but I will just keep the bonnet closed when it is dirty. The idea behind the light color was that it will be easier to see stuff when you work on the engine. |
