Didn't Aaron's car feature in that new magazine?
I tried to contact him a while ago but I couldn't really find any way how to. 1UZFE is cool hehe, how much heavier is it than standard 4age? You got a build thread somewhere? I always try to make it look better than factory, it is a pity most things won't be visable when it is running though.... Something else, I noticed you are from the states, you guys have the tankdoor opened from the inside right? Well here we have an ugly lock on it, and I want to change that. I got a cable for the trunk and the 2 latches by the seat to open both the boot and petrol door. I also got a lockless door new, but I am not sure how the rest fits. Can you perhaps take some pics for me with the door open? And are there any cables floating around for opening it, because I don't have one atm? My technical English isn't that good (as you have noticed I see ) so I hope you know what I am talkingh about. Aram. |

1UZFE is about 100kg heavier with a trans. Engine only = 210kg vs 140kg?

Aaron's car was in the first issue of 86garage Magazine. My daily is in the second issue.
the 1uzfe is heavier but only about 70+/- pounds. I can get pics of the door when I get home today. I dig the key lock one though, we never got those here in the states. Here are the pictures of the cables and routing
the levers mount here, this is the front rail where the driver's side seat mounts(lhd) cables2 by McKenneyLevin, on Flickr from there the cables route backwards to the rear seat brace where they travel across the the cabin to the passenger side and over the wheel arch into the trunk(bonnet) area cables by McKenneyLevin, on Flickr from here the fuel door cable runs to here where it actuates the release itself cables3 by McKenneyLevin, on Flickr here is the release "popper" in the fuel door area cables4 by McKenneyLevin, on Flickr here is trunk(bonnet) cable routing once in the boot area. it mounts to the passenger side hinge on the underside, and then mounts to the trunk bracing and connects to the release on the trunk latch. cables5 by McKenneyLevin, on Flickr I hope this helps! |

these shots were taken from 2 different cars due to the grey coupe having full interior and the white one being bare interior. all USDM ones are routed the same.

I am missing the cable for the tank door inc. the release mechanism. Do you ever come across these in the states, because I would like to have those. I had the first copy of garage86 mag but after that it went quiet. |
