And this is how it looks today:
I've placed the dashboard inside and shot how it was fixed by the neighbour. However I need to go back to him: I found another spot underneath the rubber of the window. It was only visible as a spot of 2 square millimeters, but underneath the rubber it is quite big. Perhaps it can be fixed with 2 compontent stuff, otherwise it needs welding again. Crying

It turned out I was right: the new mitsubishi cars have the same connector, but need to be rewired. I'll make a how to for it somewhere this week (without pics). I fixed it and now I have an ISO harness in my car. Jacked up the radio and it worked (almost) instantly. Hurray!

Oh, and I found out the factory graded my car as an AE85. Huh

The only let down at the moment is that the dash isn't the same color as the rest of the car. Did get 80% dash in blue and I tried to make it blue for as much as I already have, but it differed in color too much. So I reassembled it with the original color: now I have atleast a dash in one color. Smile
Perhaps some time later I should be looking for some parts in the right color. Anyone got some spare dash parts? I only need 3 or 4 parts! Wave

Oh, and my foglights and windowdefogger don't work: I still haven't found the switches. Anyone got a spare one? Dumb question

Another thing: my dashlights (for at night) didn't work and I took out the whole thing. Checked all the lights but no lights were broken. So reassembled it and it worked again! Thumbs up!
Hopefully the odometer is fixed as well. Undecided

It's not the chassisnumber, it's a part of the windshield, and it says AE85. My chassisnumber is AE86, but americans have a chassiscode AE86 for SR5 and AE88 for GTS.

Haha... Big Grin
Maybe you can start swapping parts like I did with mine and end up with an AE86. Big Grin

The dash lighting occasionally fails on my car too, on my car I just have to fiddle a bit with a white connector behind the light switch to get them to work again. Might help you find the problem a bit faster next time.

Huh? How do you get there without removing the dash then? Dumb question

Anyway, met a cousin of mine today and told him about the car (he used to be a car mechanic) and he told me another cousin of mine bought a hachi originally back in 1985 or 1986. He had to choose between an MR2 and a hachi, guess what he chose. Smile
