I think it is more or less dependent on the reputation of the MOT station. When I asked them how many times they get one the answer was: "Atleast two times per week, sometimes twice a day" so I think their reputation is not so good.

Maybe too fanboy, and maybe completely useless on Dutch roads, but I already have a dash switch reserved for it to make it silent again. I've finally received Ian.G's dinging device!
Thanks Ian! 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

If so I guess it should not be too hard to do something with it. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Btw banpei, can't you do something to change the switch point on the speed signal? Make it go ding ding ding at 120kph? Or at whatever odo speed at which you're actually going 120kph? then the thing would actually be usefull
Might be the case of just adding a little variable resistor... Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Hey Art,
glad it came through to you. I'm glad you are fitting a switch to disable it - that thing drove me insane when I had to drive 200kms with it still in at motorway speeds. Its just as well the ITBS and stuff were loud enough to block out most of the noise. I reckon you are right - a variable resister of some sort would probably mean you can have a dial where you can adjust when it kicks in. I'd measure the change in volts/amps across the connector and see if they are speed related. Regards Ian. |
