Greddy Type S should definetly be on the list too, its a good value for the money and it is backed up with propper R&D (or at least I hope ). There are also premium coilover sets from brands like DG5 or ZEAL, but I havent seen a lot of them... I hope someone will give us more info.
Also check out the new MCN Sport coilovers, there are few topics dedicated to it here on the forum. It wasnt released yet though so nobody actually knows how it feels. 86ers.org AE86 x GXE10 |

anyways point taken. Greddy Type S should've been there. Who here has installed it??
Would love to hear about all the suspension upgrades done to your cars.. So that once we end this poll guys here can basically have a nice list of coilover brands used by the AE86 drivers for future reference and maybe "Banpei" can make it a nice list for all of us |

Best set of coilovers for the AE86
Installed the Greddy Type-S a week ago. The softest position is really daily-drivable on the other hand the hardest one is realy a Hockenheim'isch-setup, really stiff that thing. I haven't done a geometry so I have no real benchmark to tell something about the suspension, but overall my first impression is fairly good. Get the Greddy; Best bang for the buck!

I agree with the Greddy thing. If you're handy you can also do a shortstroke conversion and get the tokico HTS shortstrokes with some nice coilovers/springs. I drive them and they are great!!

Best set of coilovers for the AE86
appreciate your input. Well so by the looks of it Greddy Type S seems to be a easy winner but we have a bit more time before we decide whats the best set of coilovers for our beloved AE86.
Anymore out there who has used anything else other than the Greddy type S and even Djexor's HTS shortstrokes please do let us know.. anyone used the KSport Coilovers?? They cost 1000 dollars where as the Type S costs 600 more.. is it worth the 600?? |

I have it installed in my car.
and honestly, I reckon the old "do it myself" Tokico HTS were just as good. For everyday use, I reckon they are good. But if I were to use them on the track, I doubt they are hard enough. Its running 8k at the front and 6k in the rear at the moment. |
