Brake advice - master cylinder
Hi guys,
Looking for advice on my brake setup. I'm running the Wilwood 280mm kit up front, and a modception axle with Golf calipers and primera discs on the rear. I'm assuming I'm going have to change the master cylinder due to the caliper being larger all round, I'm thinking a BM44 Skyline cylinder. Has anyone any experience/advice on this subject? I really don't want bad pedal feel after investing in good brakes! And sorry, it's a rhd application. |

7/8" or 15/16" depending of the firmness and pedal travel you want.
The BM44 is 15/16" |

I'd like to have a pedal similar to the original, I'm aware that the booster may also come into play.
I'm also running a beams motor on itb's with big stacks so space is limited! |

The modception one looks good, I can surely buy that local if I knew the number.

The Modception one is a Mitsubishi Pajero mk2 BMC, and works fine!

Brake advice - master cylinder
This thread is more modern than the other on the same topic, so....everyone seems to have Zenki - horizontal BMC.
Does anyone know of any solutions for the Kouki set up or will the Kouki's 7/8 move enough for RX7 front calipers? Cheers guys |

I got the OEM 4 bolt BMC but can't remember what size it is from top of my head. Most don't change it when going with the RX7 setup. As far as I know the stock FC is 7/8 as well. If you would need a lot more I think some Subarus have bigger than 1" sizes

Kouki BMC are 7/8" yes, and it should be fine with RX7 calipers.
Also, for BMC with the same bolt pattern as the kouki AE86 you have the MA70 (1" I believe) and the SW20 (7/8" NA and 15/16" on the turbo). The stock RX7 FC BMC is 7/8" and 15/16" on the FD. PS: the bigger the bore on the BMC, the harder you have to press on the pedal for the same braking force. So as long as your pedal don't travel too far, don't go too big. |
