Car not igniting 20V Omex ECU

Hi Jezza,

Any particular reason you chose the Omex ECU?

And excuse my ignorance, but running a wasted spark set-up, does that mean it still fires on all 4 cilinders all the time (like it does standard I believe?) or only the cilinder that need to be sparked?

I'm looking for a nice set-up for my BT, so many information for me to look through.

The original does NOT fire all 4 cilinders at the same time.. that's not the wisest thing to do. It fires one at a time. Wasted spark is firing 2 at a time, where one of the 2 sparks goes wasted.

I picked up a new coil pack today and that's resolved the problem.

To answer your question Aram, I chose the Omex as the previous owner of my 20V had been using the same setup and I trusted his judgement. Also, their tech support has been second to none when I've run into issues, the guys there really know their stuff, it's just unfortunate I ran into this problem at 6pm on a Friday when the Omex offices closed, but after sitting back and taking time to look at the big picture I managed to find the issues.

One thing Omex have stressed to me before in the past is it's unlikely that ECU will be the thing at fault. I really thought that the issue I had faced here had spiked the ECU and it could have very well been dead but Omex are very sure of their product holding up under such situations.
