Car shutting off and ECU making noise
Hey Guys, I have a stock GTS hatch to start off.. For some reason my gas pedal gets stuck/hard when the rpms hit high? if that makes sense? thats one problem..
another problem is that my car idles very low when is warm and shuts off if i rev high .. when that happens my ECU starts making noises.. please help with my two issues. thanks alot. |

The only mechanical thing connected to the ecu that could be making a noise is a relay, I guess the noise is a fast clicking sound ?

Yes it does click pretty fast when the cars about to shut off..
about an hour ago my car would not start, my guess was the battery because the beep went off but very low and when i would hit the switch the car would not crank, it would just die. out of nowhere it started right up, i took it to an auto parts store so they can test battery they said it was over charged, and he said my "voltage regulator" was bad... could that be my problem? |

also tons of white smoke shooting out of my corolla , even when no gas is given..

Does it do this with the engine warmed up ? As far as the relay goes you need to isolate which one is causing the problem locate the general area where the noise is coming from and then touch the relays to find the one that is clicking, you'll feel it 'tapping' This video shows the location of one of the relays etc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtijGG0z9SY The relay shown is mounted up behind the glovebox. If your voltage regular is faulty and over charging electronic components can have errors and even fail. You will need to get your alternator rebuilt or replaced before you can check anything.
