Poll: Would you choose carbs (Weber, Dellorto, Mikuni...) instead of the stock EFI of the 4AG?
I'd choose carbs
I'd choose EFI
I'd choose ITB (independed throttle bodies, added later by MODSmile)

Carbs for the 4AG
Another thing what can be critical when modding to carbs: will we able to get somewhere some vacuum for the brake servo?

Carbs for the 4AG
Up to 5 - price will be up to 150 EU each (aluminium billet).
Lada's are easy - Toyota uses oval shape of intake ports insteal of circle - in Lada.
Already have 2 requested, 1 "interested" and pending 2 others (waiting to confirm request). More=lower price.
When you remove original intake manifold, you can use injector holes in the head as vacuum source (using vacuum tank will help) :-)

And there is no way to build this adapter billet in hand - it is not simple ! You can try with flanges and tubes - but it's not simple job.

PS: FYI Lada mild steel intake (welded) + pair of 40's DelOrtos can be found even for 100 EU here - matter of luck. Very simple intake...

Whoooaahhh... 150EUR, that's not cheap! I have to re-estimate this project... Crying
That vacuum thing is strange,I don't know the heads inside...is it really that easy? And the another holes have to be closed some way?

There is no way to fall under 120EU even I cross the 10 adapters "border", the 35mm aluminium plates (material) are not cheap too.
There is no another holes to be shut. Just injector holes.

Bad news... OK, I've known that project won't be cheap so no problem I wrtie this cost to my list. When it is ready I sit down and calculate some total. If it is affordable then I start if not then not.

If you want very low-priced solution - you must use flanges and short tubes (steel) and weld the intake adapter. This will work but I tried to avoid it instead of billet aluminium.

I'd have to know both prices. The alu intake adapter can't be wrong. I write that on my list as I've said.

Carbs for the 4AG
After 3 days the poll shows that there are twice as much who want to use the stock EFI as who voted for carbs.
Strange. I've known that the carbs aren't everyones dream, but I counted upon a ratio of 50:50.
Anyways...12 votes aren't a significant pattern IMHO.

Try votes for ITB (injected) - and compare results.

Added the itb optionWink

I must say I will stick with EFI purely for cost issues but both ITB and Carbs seem a sweet choice to me. In the end though I think ITBs would have my choice.
