Carina TA62 / TA60 heater blower stopped working
Heater blower motor in my carina stopped working. It was after i was cleaning the engine bay with water - maybe some water got inside the heater and made a shortcut?
I checked heater fuse (the one in assist kick panel, 10A, named "A C", i dont have A/C, so i assume this is the heater fuse?) The fuse is OK. What else should i check? I think blower motor relay, blower resistor? I dont know where are they, is there any manual here? One more question - does carina have cabin air filter? Or maybe the blower switcher is not working? |

The Carina has an intake for air at the bottom of the windshield. I don't think there is an airfilter in there.
I'll have a look later how the heater motor is connected in the wiring diagram. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Carina TA62 / TA60 heater blower stopped working
Thanks for reply. So i think i damaged it by pouring some water into the intake, while i was washing this place at the bottom of the windshield... Rain also goes this way, but maybe i puored too much water... The other reason could be the blower power switch (this with indicators 0, 1 , 2, 3) is not connected. I need a manual to check everything step by step.. And dash removal manual, if i need to remove it to get to the blower.

I made a few photos of the relay positions and wireloom.
The blower relay is apparently on the passenger side: If you look at the wireloom the power is also cut by the gauge fuse: This fuse can be found here: However I would expect the gauge cluster to be non-functional too if the fuse breaks. So I would say that due to the water either the relay or the heater unit itself broke. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Thanks a million banpei. I've checked the gauge fuse and it's ok. Now i'll check the relay and the blower motor.

I have a problem with blower motor dissasembly. I've unscrewed 3 bolts, the motor is spinning around, but doesn't come out. (it's spinning, so it looks like the motor fan is blocking it to come out). Do You have blower motor disassembly instruction? There are no ilustrations on toyodiy.com yet, i would do it with this site, but the ilustrations are gone there...

I'll have a look later tonight if I can find it in the body repair manual.

Carina TA62 / TA60 heater blower stopped working
I've found a heater scheme in google, there are only 3 bolts keeping the blower motor, but the fan is bigger than a hole, so i think i cant just pull it out from the bottom under the dash, i afraid i will have to take out the whole heater unit to do it and it will require to dissassen\mly the cockpit/dash.
P.S. sorry for my english |

The heater is unfortunately not in the body repair manual so I can't say what the right way of dis-assembly would be...
