Carina stage 3!!
nah man no pro scoop styles for me- there is actually quite a lot of room for me to move the engine up seeing as i had it sitting so low over the crossmember- way more than the old 1uz anyways.
Cool article too thanks dude 3RZFTE TA63 Carina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkk_2-dl7GE |

Just curious as to why would you want to go 20v ITB's when you are turboing? I mean, yes you might get slightly better response, but is it really worth the extra pain when mapping compared to a custom inlet manifold with single decent sized throttle? And are these ITB's even big enough for the flow needed when turboing a 2.7liter 4-pot? I've seen some danish 20v turbo builds, and when pushing the limits the ITB's seems to turn out to be a bottleneck even on a 1.6 liter turbo when enough boost is added...

Main reason is for my own tuning experience with them- i tune a few cars to fund my car habit and there are a few 20v turbos setups about and still in the build at the moment so if i can brush up on this kind of setup in my own time will help with setting up others.
I also have a set of nissan GTIR thorttle bodies which after looking at them this week might actually be an easier option to fit up(better spacing, layout etc), these are also slightly larger diameter. 3RZFTE TA63 Carina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkk_2-dl7GE |

A friend has dropped off a set of nissan gtir quad throttles for me to try out. These have 45mm butterflies
Afer eye balling them to the inlet ports its a definate goer so il begin templating an adapter plate to mate the head and throttles together asap. oil pan has been revised and trial fitted (it actually fits this time!) so that will get finished early next week when i get time also. 3RZFTE TA63 Carina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkk_2-dl7GE |

Yeah for sure- definately not anythign earth shatteringly grunty though.
Still working on oil pan- pretty much finished but need to send to procoat to have some sort of coating put on it to help with cooling and making it smoother for the oil to return quicker. Also have started on a windage tray for it as the 3rz doesnt have one from factory. On another front i have figured out what coils to use for my coil on plug conversion- 2zzge which i have on order from America currently. These will need a small threaded boss welded to the cam cover to positively locate them onto the plugs. 3RZFTE TA63 Carina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkk_2-dl7GE |

ok so the quads have gone out the window! back to single 70mm throttle body- Ive somehow managed to con Roman into doing some solidworks drawings for me so i can have the runners and plenuum i want CnC'd by another poor friend up in Utah.
Oil Pan is all finished and on the engine. pretty happy with it. Still have to make up a windage tray for it(as 3RZ doesnt have one factory) Picked up the new turbo and wastegate couple weeks ago and today grabbe dalthe stainless bends and pipe so i can get stuck into the turbo header. Never done a header in stainless before(plenty of mild steel) On another note- Found the coil on plugs that fit the 3rz also- 2ZZGE and they should be arriving in the next week or two. 3RZFTE TA63 Carina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkk_2-dl7GE |
