Catalytic converter replacement
Hello
I am looking to replace my old Catalytic converter on my AE86. For OEM i was not able to find exact part number and i bet it will not be cheap. I found somewhere mentioned that Magnaflow 23886 will be a good replacement but i am unable to locate a store in Europe where i can get it. Prices for importing stuff to my country always double the price so it is really trouble to get import stuff outside EU. Also as my rear exhaust gone i am looking for replacement. Anyone know if 17430-16052 part from toyota can be still available and which price i can expect. Was looking other manufacturers but everything new cost a lot and most of exhausts are loud. Not sure if i can get HKS Sport or Fujitsubo legalis R in europe but i bet not. I found O2 sensor is available from NTK so at least this don't seem the issue to replace. I need to pass MOT in a month with this old lady so need to fix that exhaust. The emissions last time have been pretty high. Lucky that they let the car pass as non CAT but they will not do this exception forever i am afraid This country starts to follow this bastards in EU regulations as well. 85' AE86 GT coupe lifetime project since 2005 |

There is a lot of BS talked about performance exhausts. Having a shiny
stainless steel fart canon sticking out the back of your car is only good for annoying your neighbours Any half-decent exhaust shop should be able to make you up an exhaust system by cutting and welding standard components. For stock or near stock engine use 2" tube with a triple-pass "turbo-flow" type silencer at the back, an 18" glass-pack "hot-dog" type resonator under the floor, and a hi-flow aftermarket cat. Make it go over the rear axle... none of this lazy ass under diff crap Cheers... jondee86 |

Catalytic converter replacement
Hello
Car is stock AE86 gt coupe 2 door. Blue top AFM 85kw version. Location Slovakia Europe. My budget will be around 350e (approx price for the part 17430-16052 (original toyota exhaust)) so this is the price that will be ok for me i think. When looking at HKS sport catback or Fujitsubo Legalis R they will cost in my country imported taxed around 800e. This is too much for me. 85' AE86 GT coupe lifetime project since 2005 |

Magnaflow seems to have a bunch of different options available in the US, but I've never tried one. The federal version is reasonably priced around $146 USD, and available in the stock 2" pipe size. Shown here: http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic_con...tfit=23886
However, as jondee86 mentioned, any competent muffler shop (if available) should be able to help you out. Edit: Looks like jegs.com offers international shipping. |
