Pressure plate depends from the flywheel used (200 and 212mm options, 4AC have diferent bolting pattern than 4AGE but can be easily redrilled to fit - 1 or 2 holes only).

Now I installed a clutch with heavy duty pressure plate and 6-pad spring ceramic disc from ACT in my rallycar. The clutch feels quite good, though I only droveon the streets and not on a rallye yet. The pressure plate is harder to press, but not too hard, i find, and due to the springs, the shocks are not too hard. I think it´s a good choice for racecars that also must be driven on streets and need a good durability of transmission, rear axle, etc. But I can tell more, after the first rally this year...
There are different possibilities for pressure plates and discs, so i think everybody can find his best choice... URL of the label: http://www.advancedclutch.com/1274880/0/...AGEC).html Best regards, raki http://www.sg-rallyesport.de |

I have a 6 puck sprung hub clutch. Its awesome, sprung hub reduces the chatter.

Careful with clutches that are too heavy duty, for example high pressure clutch covers, twin plate clutches, etc. If used hard these are too harsh for the weak T50 gearbox and if you have an uprated final drive such as say 4.77:1...
Use of too heavy duty a clutch will end in tears - when your gearbox breaks, pinion gear loses teeth, etc. The best clutch (Which I see Tec Arts use in their D1 cars and Techo Pro Spirits recommend above all others is the RG or TRD clutch kit (Both are the same) with copper mix plate (Circular - not puck type). I've used the RG kit for drifting with a 200 bhp engine and mine lasted me almost 2 years of clutch kicking abuse before the plate finally got worn enough to slip. We've just replaced it with the same again They're not expensive, so there's no excuse for not getting one. VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITES!!!! After driving 5 rallys with the ACT clutch, I wrote a few postings before, I changed the disc, but still use the pressure plate. I destroyed a driveshaft and the t50 had to be changed, cause it´s not working well anymore. Of course there are also other reasons, but I think the disc is too harsh for the other stock components, when driving really hard. Though it was really nice driving it.
Now I use a 4 puck sprung disc from "Sachs" which is also sintered metal, but works much smoother, almost like the stock one, maybe cause of stronger springs. But it is not so weak like the stock one. I don´t think this disc is available anymore, cause I got it from a friend who bought it few years ago but didn´t need it... i've installed an XTD stage 3 6puck clutch with a lightend flywheel, both new.
But now i cant get the car in gear when the engine is running? I can't imagine that i have to re-bleed the system after changing the clutch. Anyone with the same experience overhere? With other words: HELP? I reject your reality and substitute my own! No more Panda.. Tricolor bastard! If it 'aint broke, fix it 'til it is |
