You might as well spend a bit more and get a released action kit, this will also allow you to fit an oil cooler inline.

Corolla GT Coupe - Royalty Black
Yesterday was a productive afternoon....
It was time to disassemble the 20Valve and get a clue about whats inside the block. The results were the expected.... The engine has some mileage but it was never abused..... An overhall sweet engine! In a more global view, the crankshaft bearings are nice and don't appear to be worned.... Still the rod bearings show some mileage signs... Probably won't change those since they are in a pretty nice shape. The crankshaft bearings are like new! Sweet jesus! The overhall look of it.... Still got some metal pieces from the oil strainer when the engine was machined in new..... hahahha It was never opened, from what it appeared to be the original glue.... A closeup Removed the engine head... The head gasket shows some mileage signs.... still it was fine! The pistons have a really cool shape, and the clearance is sweeeettttt!! Besides the 2nd cylinder proving that the valve retainers need retiremnt, the residues from the combustion are pretty noticeable.... The cilynders show minimum damage from the using.... And the engine is perfect! Look! Look at this beauty! Super happy with this engine! Thanks ditn More to come! |

Time to update this thread!
Since my last post much has happened! The 20v head was cleaned and machined to be in perfect shape for mounting it again on the engine. The engine itself was cleaned, sanded, polished and painted! A beauty! The rod bearings where used (they show some mileage, but they're new! So no need to change those) The headers are on the process for a new flange (matching the 20V holes). The OBX quality is very nice now that i had the chance to watch carefully... There was no need to grab another set of headers..... Sill need some adviced..... The RX7 brakes i'm placing now, are almost there but with no brake pads! I can't find a good review about a RX/ brake pad set..... Also, i need some advice on the 4AGE oil sandwich. Needs to be thermoestatic and must have 2 sensor outlets and 2 radiator outlets. What is on the market? Some pictures for reference...... What RX7 brake pads to use?! Daily/Track What oil sandwich is the best (being thermostatic, with 2 sensor ports and 2 radiator ports)?! Regards |

Out of curiosity why do you want a thermostatic sandwich plate. In my experience it's a waste of money. If your temps should really fall too much due to a oversized oilcooler or very low winter temps you can simply wrap it in foil or put a piece of cardboard in front of it to block the air. Even with the 19 row cooler I barely ever felt the need to do the above.
