DIFF Comparison, I need HELP!! 56k warn
Ok, thats how the story goes:
I got 2 diffs here. One is in good condition, the other looks crapy. I need some help recognising WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES between the two diffs. I post pics with the differences I spotted. DIFF 1 = crappy one DIFF 2= good one danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

First I will show you why the DIFF 1 looks crappy.
I really need you to tell me if you can recognise WHY it looks like that: This dent is at the back side. How the hell can this be made?? Tese are two scratch dents at the front. danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

DIFF Comparison, I need HELP!! 56k warn
OK,
this is a very intresting comparison: DIFF 1 has these seriously bad DENTS at each side. What does these scratches mean? What made them? Is this diff still working? DIFF 1 has a marking that sais "616" In the other hand DIFF 2, has no scratches at all and the markings are "22" at one side and "A" at the other. Anyone know what does this difference means??? danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

Now you know why DIFF 1 is not as good as DIFF 2
Back to differences again. Anybody knows why DIFF 1 has a "D" marked on the side while DIFF 2 has a "E"??? danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

These are the front sides of the two diffs.
Again diffferent markings: DIFF 1 has a "3" marked while DIFF 2 has a "6" on it... And here are the back sides: DIFF 1 has numbers "1" and "2" marked on it If anyone can help, thanx! while DIFF 2 has number "3" and a "Z" danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

When i changed diffs last year - the old driveshafts did not fit the new diff.
hence - different spline´s... More differnces ? I´m sorry sir, your planet has been sceduled for destruction in favor of an intergalactic highway -Thank you Kristian Hesselmark, Sweden EVO-DRIFT-STREET-DRAG-SHOW |

About those dents:
One is just the bearing....can easily be fixed...press on a new bearing. The dents on the other side are not fixable...but they shouldnt necessarily be a problem. They do make it more prone to stress damage. I've seen those teeth marks on the side on a few diffs.. theyre also not a problem as far as I know.. Why dont you open them up? I think the nr.1 diff might have some more damage inside, since something must have caused those scratches and dents on the outside. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
