Difference in Brake master cylinder
If you've removed the master cylinder, it's worth taking it down to your friendly local motor factor [when they're not too busy] and compare it with ones they have in stock.

Quite often the main cylinder body will be identical, but there may be different shape reservoirs or other fittings for different models. Just swap the detachable parts from your old one, if need be.

Other FWD Corollas etc might be a good place to start. An AE92 clutch master cylinder can be easily modded to fit the AE86.
