Doc's KE20: - really coming together now
Today i finally started on the block
Bought myself an enginestand, so there where no excuses NOT to start on it Crank, pistons and camshaft in: I eventually went for the TwinRow timing chain, because i heard they are more reliable then the SingleRow one. Better a bit more weight then a breaking chain i think Final of today: I've put new rings on the pistons and new big end bearings so it won't break down soon (i hope ). Of course all the gaskets and seals are replaced with new ones too. Hopefully tomorrow i can go on with it "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

Today i finally finished the engine (well, almost finished )
Need to get some things and the DCOE intake manifold needs some fiddling, because it hits the exhaustmanifold, sadly the pics: Head fitted: Rockers, push rods fitted and valve's adjusted: Ignition, oilfilter bracket etc. etc. fitted: Endresult of today! Whow, loads of progress!!!
Why didn't you paint some of the engine parts now that it was all appart anyways? You'll have a fully rebuild engine now that still looks like its been in the car for ages... Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

KrizKH Wrote:Very nice car!! Dunno what cam it is, it's a custom cam, and sadly, i don't have any cam specs. The carbs aren't tuned yet, but i'll let you know when it's done. The clutch was worn (a bit )
So i swapped it over saturday, and i have the flywheel and stuff lying from my 4K project, so i thought it would be rude NOT to bolt that flywheel to my original engine The original flywheel weighs about 10kgs, the lighter one around 4kgs, so that's quite a bit of difference Everything is fine, i don't feel any negative side effects of it (even idle is not that bad), but i revs quite nice now And i also worked on the suspension, because something was rattling (i thought the pads in the calliper were loose, because i didn't use all the retainers). Seemed to be a number of problems, so i had to take the shocks from the car, and then it was easy to install my cusco camberplates i had on the shelf for some time The adjusting was wrong, so i just put them on max negative for now, i'm going to get alignment job done on monday "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |
