ECU questions...

Hi,

got a few difficult questions regarding standard 4AGE ECU´s.
All the ECU´s got a pin for a O2 sensor input (Ox) but its not programed into the ECU, if the engine didnt come with a O2 sensor?

Ive got a JDM ECU with the partnumber:
89661-12051

If I google with this number its a AE86 bigport MAP ECU.

I´m trying to find out wheter this is capable of running on an O2 sensor or not.
The AE86 (Kouki Trueno) that got me thinking is a non runner, had an engine loom with the o2 sensor plug on it and the ECU with the above partnumber in the boot.

Does a MAP bigport O2 sensor 4AGE exist?
Anyone has a JDM 4AGE to check for me please?

I've got a 89661-12021 ECU in the shed, that came out of a MAP-sensored
1984 Levin hatch (believed to be Euro-spec), and that car did not have an
O2 sensor. Likewise, my 1985 MAP-sensored hatch did not have an O2
sensor either.

Is yours a JDM import?

Hi, I know euro spec bluetops haven´t got a O2 sensor, only the swiss spec bluetop came with one (they also had EGR and MAF).

I´ve spend some time on auctions yahoo and it seem that all the RWD manifolds come with a hole for the lambda, and I even found a picture of a stock JDM bluetop, with a lambda on it.
So chances are that JDM bluetops in AE86 had a O2 sensor...

Anyone with an fairly stock import Bluetop engine to confirm?

My 4AGE was originally 4AGEC with AFM for Swiss market and it came with EGR/O2.
Not sure if that's what you asked .

JDM had single wire O2 sensor
UK had a variable resistor mounted near the coil to adjust the fueling.
89661-12050 was used between May '83 and Aug '83 in Japan

So are we positive on JDM AE86 having a single wire O2 sensor?

My ECU got a different partnumber 89661-12051, which comes up as an ECU that was used through all the years they buils AE86´s, unfortunatly this doesnt narrow it down.

Anyone got a partnumber for a AE86 lambda sensor? With this I could trace back in which AE86 is was fitted and than find out if these AE86´s run ECU´s with my partnumber...

Thanks, thats all I needed, my ECU matches the JDM lambda sensor partnumber!!!

I could´t find the O2 sensor before, cause for some weired reason ists listed under "switch and relay" and not as anyone whould expect under "electronic fuel injection system"

Another option is, If you elect to not use the O2 sensor, you will need a 12 Ohm rheostat wired into the ECU sensor circuit. Lean will be below .45 Volts and full rich 1.0 Volts] I’m set just above .6 Volts. Note that small voltage adjustments do not seem to make any difference in drivability. So an initial .6 to .7 volt reading should be a good starting point with the stock ECU. Dave W

Thanks for the Info, but its about how to find a ECU that runs a lambda on a MAP bluetop engine, so the car, in this case a AA63, can meet austrian emission laws.
