EDIT* AE86 Swaps
Hey guys this is kinda funny because yet again I have another set of noob/wanabe questions.

I HAVE LOOKED ELSEWHERE FOR INFO BUT LIKE ALWAYS OTHER FORUMS ARENT AS HELPFUL AS THIS ONE!

PLEASE DONT FLAME ME Respect! lol I am just curious.

A 3S-GTE in an AE86..Whats needed, I ask because a friend wants my recently aquired 4age turbo kit I have and is willing to pay much money than I bought it for (big profit)....SO ill need to do something else if I accept his offer.

Anyways, Ive heard that you can buy a bellhousing from Toyota that will mate a 3S to a W series Tranny.....Or something like a W-tranny, C-series bellhousing (diesel?). If that works then the tranny issue is solved, we all know a W-series fits into AE86's.

Now motor mounts...One guy said the stock ones will work, but I am extremely skeptical of this. So custom? or does any companies make adapters?

What about gauges, Can a wiring harness be hacked to make the 3s work in an AE86 using the stock gauges?
Would you use a hacked 3s ECU or a hacked AE86 ECU?

So what will be needed most likely in my head is...

-3S-GTE Engine
-Custom motor mounts
-W55 Transmission
-Bellhousing adapter of some kind
-Custom Intake/ intercooler and piping setup.
-Custom Exhaust
-Major hacking to the wiring harness

(I know im missing a whole ton of things but those are the major)

I know 3s swap is more money than a 4agte but I ask because my turbo setup will maybe make 200-210whp and will be very unreliable and wont have much engine life...The 3sgte will almost match that power with AMAZINGLY more reliablity with major life.

This has been done before, I also know a guy in Calgary(my city) that has done this, but could you guys gimme advice or fill me in with the things Im missing please? Thumbs up!

EDIT* AE86 Swaps
Do a search on 3S..this question came up just a few days ago. Lots of surprisingly good info in that thread.

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

4AGTE at 210whp(under 250@crank) will not be unreliable IMHO !

There is a bellhousing that can be ordered from toyota?
My buddy works at a Toyota dealership and he asked them..They looked at him like he had two heads!

EDIT* AE86 Swaps
damn, i think there is too much work involved, especially when NoHachi is tempting me with the CA18DET....Too bad I dont like to put Nissan crap in a Toyota....But im not going to drop extra thousands just to make it say toyota Tongue

NoHachi, Ive noticed you pulled this one off yourself...Basically Straight drop hey? What about SR20? I like CA more but parts in canada would be impossible to find, SR20 is a little more feesable. Is that an easy swap? I presume by that you mean the mechanics is easy, but the wiring hehehehe

EDIT* AE86 Swaps
The CA18DET was put in by the previous owner, mechanically it's nearly bolt-in, need some small lengthening plates for the engine mounts and the shifter hole needs to be cut further backward. The electrics arent overly complicated either I think.. but I wouldnt know for sure untill I've had a look.

FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC!
