Electric Power Steering - What options are available

I fittet a Vauxhaul (Opel) Corsa powersteering column ind my AE86. I have not tryed it on the road yet, but I can show you some pics of how I mounted it.

The biggest problem are the heaterbox in midle of the car, the powersteering motor will NOT clear this, unless your turn it 45deg upwards.

You will also need a speedsignal from the tranny, but I bought a clever little box wich make this signal, and you can adjust the powerassist on a little button.

I use 195/50 R15 tires also... And also -2º camber at the front...

The steering column from the Yaris P9 is easy to find in a scrapyard, but the PS ECU from a non-ABS vehicle is more difficult.

I will install the Quaife and try it to feel how hard it is to park...

I have 2 Yaris steering column laying in my basement. I did not use theese, because its not posible to zeropoint the ecu and it also drive with CAN-BUS system. Mayby the non abs don't do that.

The Danish Endurance Championship drove with Corolla T Sport 10 years ago, they have some big problems with the electronic powersteering. When they hit the curbe, it shut off the power steering and whent i failsafe. They actually had to get Toyota in Japan, to develop a new software, specially for them
