hmm that wont make the compression silly high... maybe around 11:1 or close... what catcams have been installed - 7105137?
a realy silly one again but you wouldn't have swap the in and ex cam by mistake? this might lead to the glowing manifold as everything else seems ok

The VE tabel in on the 2. page in the word doc.

It would be easier for me to read the table if you just post the MS files.

If the manifold glows, pluck it off and find out why.
I bet you 10 Euro your problem lies there.

Please post.

Too much unburnt fuel in exhaust could also do the trick (if it gets burned in the exhaust somehow).
What work has been done to the engine recently?

I still think the problem is the physical position of the ignition trigger positioned only 50degrees BTDC. I know of another guy that has moved this slightly within the distributor to get enough advance. MS manual clearly states that you should NOT run 20-50degree advance in the software as this migth cause problems. Anything else that can delay the ignition? The trigger wheel has 4 teeth. Can you just add 90degrees in the software and then get the trigger signal at 140degrees BTDC?

We did experience problems with an unstable LM-1 on our lats trip to The Ring, but this would be easy to disable and eliminate as a problem.

from what I've seen on MS the OEM setup regarding triggering should work as it is... if the neccesary adjustments (soldering) have been done ...

If you think the trigger wheel is the problem.

Build a new one?

We did that on our turbolaurel and on a S14. (dont have pics of the S14 though. Searched for 20 minutes. lol ^_^)

Do you have the appropriate resistors wired up to your trigger?

Is this happening under load ?
What is the engine temperature according to the gauge ?
When measured what is the actual cam timing ?
Is yours a tubular manifold or stock cast iron ?

How much lift does your valves have at TDC.
Talked to catcams a few weeks ago, they told me to mount the cams according to the indicates lift@TDC and not by lobe centers,...

I Tkink it happens under load too, but when idle the exhaust become glowing, when we set the ignition timing to fx 30 degree btdc the engine can´t idle under 2800 rpm, but the manifol still got glowing, so It can´t be the ignition timing (30 degree with 2800 rpm isn´t to late ignition.
The engine temp is 80 degree. the manifold is stock.
the cam timing is 105 at lobe center I have not measured the lift at tdc (yet)
