Fuel pump help

Hey all from my previous post im having prob with starting the car. Now i looked at the injectors and no fuel or v.little fuel is coming out.

Could anyone tell me how to get to the fuel pump as it doesnt look like accessable from inside the car ps i have a JDM 84 trueno

How did you check for fuel at the injectors? Best way is to loosen the fuel line to the cold start injector and see if something comes out DURING cranking, this is important since the fuelpump only runs during starting and obviously while running.

Next check for voltage at the connectors to the fuel pump, if there is 12v there but your not getting fuel, then it's time to change the fuelpump.

To do this, you need to take the fueltank off of the car. I know there are many stories about that procedure on the forum so do a search.

yeah i checked the injectors and if teh cold start injector is at the side of the inlet manifold near the throttle sensor then i taken that off and no fuel is there also. is there another way to get into the fuel pump like cutting the metal part off as i dont want to take the tank off completely

You'd need to cut a good chunk out of the floor to get to it.. then you still would have a hard time getting it out due to the long hardlines on top of the fuel pump assembly.

so it will be easier to take the tank out than to cut the metal on top ?

IMO, yes. If your fuel tank is in the state that most out there are, then you really dont even want to try to get the hardlines loose from the lines on the car. The lines and fittings are usually corroded solid, so you end up breaking the hardlines, which are hard to fix. The safest approach is to drop the tank a little, then loosen the screws on the pump assembly, drop the tank a bit more, or completely, then change out the fuel pump whilst it is still hanging under the car.
This sounds like a PITA, but it's much better than having to fix the hardlines on the fuelpump assembly. You'll hardly be doing this on a monthly basis or anything, so it's a shame to cut a hole in the floor for it anyway.
