Gt86 diff in an ae86
Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding diffs. Can a stock gt86 differential fit in an ae86? Also is a stock zenki differential better than a kouki differential? Or are they literally the same? Thanks! |

No, and no.
The GT86 has an 8 inch diff (compared to the 86's 6.7 inch). Big size difference there. The differentials are more or less the same. Kouki uses bigger shafts so the hole in the gears might be different but nothing worth mentioning. The bigger shafts are a plus though. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

You can find the pictures of both sizes here: http://www.aeu86.org/2014/09/25/ae86-the...-approach/ OEM diff is 1.5 way and you can swap it for an aftermarket 2 way. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Most importantly, for what purpose are you building the car? Street, track, grip, drift... all important to know when choosing a new lsd.

Cusco has the MZ line where you can change the behaviour. I haven't checked if the make one for the Corolla but I guess they do. That's obviously just one of the many options but probably one of the more versatile ones.

With the Cusco RS line you can also do that. Mine is currently setup as 1.5 but you can easily change it to 2 way.
@Ghost, The oem lsd is 1.5 and plenty of people have drifted with that. ハチロク |
