HOWTO: Mazda FC3S 4pot Calipers
You know I hate working.

I compared BMW E23 728 rear calipers and pads to the AE86 ones. The BMW pads have smaller friction area ! They haven't e-brake mechanism also (E23 uses drums for e-brakes!). I have a little strange way to modify rears - using Wartburg 353W fronts (4-pot but with solid discs!!!) - but this is exotic and will not be useful with conventional e-brake. I found some 2-pot rears in Opels so maybe this is the right modification for rear brakes - cheap and widely available ? |

Thanks for all the comments guys. I bought a pair of FC calipers years ago without realising how hard they would be to fit. So I thought anyone in the same boat might want to know my results.
As for rear brakes, if you have a T series rear end (not sure what models you got in Europe, in Oz we got an S series (crap) rear end) then the entire disc assembly fron an RT141 Corona bolts on. Reasonable sized discs with an internal drum handbrake (good for rally/drift). Only modification is that the shock mounts on the diff need to be moved in about 10mm. i have never seen a corona rt141 in Holland.. ( maybe some other dutch here??) i see a lot of older nice japanese cars driven in australia that are here only in a museum.. ( like older corolla's, or cars like the mazda Rx3,Rx4. R100. often they used it for the dragsports.. http://www.fullboost.com.au in australia) and are the adapterplates made for the original brakedisks? or is it posible to fit rx7 disks?? Do not forget more is not better. Bigger calipers and bigger disks means more weight. You have to find the balance. The FC 4-pot are alu so maybe they are not even heavier than OEM calipers. Getting 4-pot rears is just silly overkill. I think you only need to do the front.
