HOWTO: Mazda FC3S 4pot Calipers
I'm not too worried about the rears either. I've seen a few japanese ae86's that had r32 skyline calipers on the back (Iida Akira and Keichi Tsuchiya I believe). But my rear calipers actually lock up better than my fronts at the moment. I think my problems mostly come from the brakepads and master brake cilinder (can never get that damn brake pedal rock hard).

If you upgraded only the front calipers, and not using brake bias adjuster, the stock rear brakes will lock up.

I cleaned everything and put in new rubbers in all the calipers. My master brake cilinder also has new pistons, the car still doesnt brake properly though. Maybe my MBC is still leaking internally, or my brake bias adjuster isnt working right.
Anyway, this topic is not about my brake probs but about FC calipers. I still prefer the idea of euro carmaker brakes though, like the volvo Girling 4-pot calipers. Nothing against the FC but you dont find those calipers a lot around here. I have also seen some weird setup with Ford Escort RS2000 turbo calipers on senna's car, which also have lots of aftermarket support. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

It's an old thread but I'm able to do 3D drawings in solid edge as well and can save them in a lot of formats. So if anyone needs something i might be able to help!

you can use these brackets but maybe they wont fit under most 14" rims???
i used some ajps caliper brackets and redrilled eg civic discs.... but 2 things to consider is rim backspacing and interference with lca on disc caused by rcas. i compremised and milled a shorter rca also run 20mm spacers to clear 14x8j -12 ssr rims, i used fd calipers but i dont think it matters stock brake master is ok, rear brake upgrades are sumtimes strange/ maybe use ya brake pad selection to help with bias?? i had planned on using s3 rx7 setup but used s13 discs with factory caliper, its was prety easy to setup |

HOWTO: Mazda FC3S 4pot Calipers
Hi all.
I have a few questions about brakes. 1. If you put the caliper rx-7 fc3s and 276 mm mini cooper s disc problem installing 15 "wheels may be seeing?? read somewhere that not all 15 wheels will be on on the this brake kit. Minds? 2. How to install the same calipers but the disc 262mm from Honda Civic eg5, 14 discs are Good? Maybe someone use this set? 3. To install the need special adapters (brackets). I found their drawings. but the question is which of the adapters for the drive from mini cooper s, and that for the brake disk from Honda Civic. In theory they should be different, because of the Honda Civic 262mm disc is smaller , and the adapter must be smaller that the caliper to sit closer to the center. Am I right? Drawing for Cooper S 276mm rotor i found: Here: http://www.aeu86.org/viewtopic/sharing-k...hlight=rx7 Here but drawing Adapter for Honda Civic 262 mm brake I did not find. Tell me where to look? |
